What it helps with and what to check
Good tasks to start with
- Summarising a small uploaded document
- Questioning a spreadsheet with source-cell checks
- Reviewing a file through an eligible Google account
Keep an eye on
- Drive connections have different requirements from local file uploads
- A successful upload does not prove every page was read correctly
- File limits and organisation permissions can interrupt the workflow
How to start
Tick each step as you work. These checks stay on this page only; they do not verify results in the external tool.
0 of 5 steps checked
Start with the document-summary Task
Open the document-summary Task below and use its labelled fictional document. In the guided workflow, prepare the source and copy the combined prompt. Keep the original open so you can check each claim later; do not connect a work Drive just to try the example.
Attach a small file in Gemini
On a computer, sign in at gemini.google.com, enter the prompt, then choose Add files → Upload Files for a local document. These labels come from Google Help. Start with one short supported file. If upload is unavailable, paste a short text excerpt and state what you left out.
Use Drive only when its permissions are clear
Google Help says Add from Drive requires Keep Activity and a Google Workspace connection. A work or school account may also need administrator access. Use a local non-sensitive excerpt for the first exercise; do not change organisation settings to get past an access error.
Check what is missing as well as what it says
Ask for a brief with source labels and unresolved questions. Compare it with every source section: did it drop a condition, turn a proposal into an approval, or change a number? Ask for one specific repair, then paste the repaired draft into the AhaDo review step.
Separate a file limit from a content error
If a file cannot be analysed, Google Help suggests uploading it again. If you hit an account limit, check the current plan or try a smaller excerpt with clear scope. Paying for more allowance does not repair a mistaken summary; only the source check can establish that.

Privacy and human checks
Before you upload
- Remove customer names, passwords, identifying details and company secrets.
- Read the provider’s current retention, training and workspace settings.
Before you use the result
- Verify facts, sources, calculations and code against the original material.
- Have a person review important content or actions before publishing, sending or running them.

Guide published · File instructions reviewed against Google Help on 6 September 2026. Uploads require sign-in; work or school access can depend on an administrator. The exercises below are AhaDo guidance, not a measured accuracy claim. Price rows keep their own collection dates; a new onboarding review does not refresh a price.
