What it helps with and what to check
Good tasks to start with
- Teams already keeping knowledge in Notion
- Drafting and summarising workspace content
- Finding answers across approved team pages
Keep an eye on
- Workspace permissions still need careful setup
- AI access depends on the current plan
- Check summaries against the source pages
How to start
Tick each step as you work. These checks stay on this page only; they do not verify results in the external tool.

Prepare one page you are allowed to summarise
Start with a short, non-sensitive excerpt on a separate Notion page. Keep the original unchanged and label the copied paragraphs P1, P2 and P3. Record the source title and version. To practise safely, use the fictional checklist trial in the document-summary worksheet below. Do not connect another workspace or import private records just to try this task.
Open the agent for this page
Open Notion Agent from the sidebar or the bottom corner, as described in the official guide. Ask it to work only with the labelled excerpt on this page. For a selected passage, the documented alternative is to highlight it and choose Edit with AI. If neither control is available, check your workspace access and plan; use the AhaDo worksheet by hand while access is unresolved.
Request a brief with evidence beside each claim
Use the worksheet prompt with your excerpt: produce a main point, evidence with paragraph labels, and limitations or unanswered questions. Add: “Use this page only. Do not search connected apps or the web. Keep missing facts unknown and do not overwrite the original.” Expect a reviewable draft, not a verified report. Keep using this Notion conversation for corrections.
Check the passage, then accept or discard the draft
Compare every claim with its labelled paragraph. In the fictional case, eight of twelve volunteers completed setup; the source does not establish a causal improvement or lower cost. Restore that limitation if the draft drops it. Notion documents accepting, discarding or retrying an AI edit. Keep your source copy and review before accepting changes. A source chip is a way to find evidence, not proof that the wording is correct.
Return with the draft and keep the checked brief
Copy the draft into the document-summary worksheet and complete its evidence checks. The worksheet does not run Notion for you or require a second assistant. Before leaving, copy the checked brief together with source labels and open questions; worksheet text is only held on the current page. If the brief is for another audience, continue to the stakeholder-update Task with the same checked facts.
