What it helps with and what to check

Good tasks to start with

  • Avatar explainers and training videos
  • Localising a video into several languages

Keep an eye on

  • Obtain consent for faces and voices
  • Disclose synthetic presenters when appropriate

How to start

Tick each step as you work. These checks stay on this page only; they do not verify results in the external tool.

0 of 6 steps checked

1

Start with a script you can check

Use this fictional exercise: “This is a practice announcement for the fictional Cedar Library. Please finish the two-question link-safety exercise by 18 September. If a message asks you to sign in through an unexpected link, do not open it. Ask the training coordinator to check it first.” Keep these four facts: Cedar Library, two questions, 18 September, and do not open the unexpected link. Use practice material, not employee records or internal links. Aim for a 20–30-second clip; measure the result rather than assuming its length.

2

Open one AI Studio scene

In HeyGen, choose Create → Create a Video → Landscape → Create in AI Studio. Keep the first scene and paste your script into its text field. Use a public avatar from the Avatar panel and a voice available in your account. Keep the background simple and add the visible label “Fictional training exercise.” Do not upload or clone a real person's face or voice for this practice. Check account access and generation/export limits before spending credits.

3

Listen to the script first

Click Play next to the selected voice to hear your actual script. Check the library name, number, date and the words “do not.” If a word sounds wrong, double-click it, choose Pronunciation and enter the intended pronunciation; then listen again. Adjust the voice speed if needed without changing the facts. This is an audio preview. HeyGen says the full animated avatar cannot be previewed while editing; the complete picture-and-sound check comes after generation.

4

Add readable captions, then generate

In AI Studio's right-side menu, turn on Captions. Check the text, size and position; keep it clear of the speaker's face and the bottom edge. For avatar videos, use these stylized captions. The Share Page CC switch documented for translated videos is a different feature. Confirm the script and any credit charge, then submit for generation if you choose to continue. If a limit or moderation message stops you, keep your script and read that message; do not keep submitting the same project.

5

Check the finished video against four facts

Play the generated video from start to finish. Confirm the four source facts in both speech and captions, check their timing and make sure the final sentence is not cut off. For example, “Do open the link” is not a small typo: it reverses the advice. Fix the script or caption text and review the new result before marking this step complete; regeneration may use more credits. Listen and watch the actual clip—text in the editor cannot prove that the rendered video is correct.

6

Open the saved file before calling it done

Open the finished video's Share Page and inspect the available video download. Download only if its format and account terms fit your needs. Open the saved file outside HeyGen: check picture, sound, captions, duration and the ending. The linked captioned-video Task requires an MP4 with readable captions; a share link or a completed render alone does not meet that requirement. If your file meets the checks, finish there. If suitable export is unavailable, the existing wide.video Guide offers an alternative with supported owned or practice material. AhaDo cannot inspect your HeyGen result; these checks record what you reviewed yourself.
