What it helps with and what to check

Good tasks to start with

  • Rewriting and polishing a passage
  • Students and writers checking alternative wording

Keep an eye on

  • Do not disguise copied work with paraphrasing
  • Keep the original meaning and citations intact

How to start

1

Open Grammar Checker, not a rewriting mode

Open QuillBot’s official Grammar Checker using the source link below. Its page documents entering text, selecting Check grammar and reviewing suggestions. Start with the small fictional paragraph in the next step. No extension or file upload is needed for this exercise. For your own writing, first check the provider’s current data rules and your school or workplace policy; remove private details.

2

Paste just the paragraph

Use this fictional text: “Our team finish the review yesterday. We are waiting approval. We may publish the draft next week.” Paste only these sentences into Grammar Checker and select Check grammar if prompted. Keep an untouched copy beside the result. This editor checks the text you enter; do not paste AhaDo’s assistant instructions or source labels as if they were part of the paragraph.

3

Accept a correction only when you can explain it

The official page asks you to evaluate grammar, punctuation and fluency suggestions. For this exercise, two expected corrections are finish → finished because yesterday is past, and waiting approval → waiting for approval. A suitable edited paragraph is: “Our team finished the review yesterday. We are waiting for approval. We may publish the draft next week.” This is an authored answer key, not a recorded QuillBot result. If a suggestion is different, inspect its meaning rather than trying to match this key word for word.

4

Keep may as may

Reject a change from may publish to will publish: it creates a promise. Waiting for approval must not become approved. Keep the review date and publication uncertainty as written. Optional style changes are not automatically grammar errors. Write a tiny change log: original phrase; replacement; grammar reason or optional style; meaning unchanged or needs review. A fluent sentence can still tell the wrong story. Do not use a writing score or AI-detection score as proof that the facts are true, the work is original or the writer has reached a level.

5

Practise the edit in the writing worksheet

Open the linked writing guide to prepare a paragraph, keep your edited draft and complete the human checks. Its prompt step is optional help for an assistant you are allowed to use; for QuillBot Grammar Checker, continue with the paragraph alone. You can also edit manually and move through the worksheet without sending anything to an assistant. Copy your work before leaving: worksheet text is not saved. The AhaDo guide does not import QuillBot results. For factual claims, use the citation-check Task from the guide before sharing; grammar checking cannot verify a source.
