Check visibility before you generate
Open Leonardo's Image workspace and check your account access, the model's displayed cost and Private Mode. The official FAQ says private generation and deletion of generated images require a paid plan. Do not assume you can make a public image private or remove it later on your current plan. Use the fictional brief below, with no private photos or client work. If access or required privacy is unavailable, prepare the brief and stop before generating. This exercise does not require a purchase.
Give the image one clear job
Fictional brief: a square illustration for a neighbourhood book swap. Place a small stack of books and a potted plant in the lower two thirds. Use warm green and cream colours. Leave the upper third plain for a title added later. No people, logos, letters, dates or watermarks. Edit the purpose, subject and layout if needed, then copy your brief. This makes an illustration asset, not a complete event poster; the event details still need to be added and checked separately.
Choose settings you can compare
In the web app, select Image beneath the prompt bar or from the sidebar. Choose an available model in Models and a square ratio in Image Dimensions. Set the number of images and check the token cost on Generate before clicking it. Controls vary by model; record the model and settings you actually use instead of assuming every example option exists. Paste your brief and generate once. If generation fails, read the error and check access and cost before retrying; a loading screen is not an image result.
Fix the mismatch, not everything at once
Check the result against four requirements: square shape, both books and plant present, clear title space, and no unwanted lettering or logos. If leaves fill the title area, revise the brief to say: “Keep all books and leaves in the lower two thirds; leave the upper third plain cream.” Keep other settings stable where possible and compare the next result. This is an authored correction example, not a tested Leonardo output. If the first image already fits, record what you checked; do not spend another round just to tick a box.
Open the downloaded file
The official guide says generated images appear in the AI Creation feed and Library, with download controls shown when hovering over an image. Download the version you chose, then open it in your device's image viewer. Check that it opens, is the intended version and still leaves usable title space at the size you need. If you add event text in an editor, keep it editable and check the spelling and actual event details before export. A good thumbnail is not proof that the right file was saved.
Keep the recipe and review sharing separately
Keep a short record beside the file: actual model and settings, generation date, final prompt, filename and what you changed or checked. If a prompt helper changed your wording, record the prompt actually used, not just your first brief. Review the current terms for your account and model, your input rights and the resulting image before public or commercial use. The recipe is your own record, not a licence or provider verification. Copy it before leaving this worksheet; completion here means you report checking a local image, not publishing it.
