What it helps with and what to check

Good tasks to start with

  • Building small apps without local setup
  • Learning and prototyping in a browser
  • Moving from prompt to hosted demo

Keep an eye on

  • Generated apps still need security review
  • Hosting and AI usage have separate limits
  • Do not put production secrets into a prototype

How to start

Tick each step as you work. These checks stay on this page only; they do not verify results in the external tool.

0 of 5 steps checked

1

Define one screen that can pass a test

Build a reading list, not a whole bookshop. Use the PRD Task below to refine this brief, or take it as written: “Make one browser page with three fictional books: Moon Garden (unread), Paper Boats (read), Quiet River (unread). Each book has a Read checkbox. Show the number of unread books and an Unread only filter. Start with two unread books. Refresh resets the three books to these starting values. No login, database, external service or publishing.”

2

Review the plan before starting the build

Open a Replit project with Agent enabled. In the Project Editor, open the mode selector at the bottom left of the chat input and choose Plan mode. Paste the brief. Ask for the page behaviour and a short test list before any build. Remove extra features such as recommendations, accounts or a database from the plan. Replit documents usage charges for Plan mode too; check the price and allowance shown in your account before submitting.

3

Build it and open Preview

When the plan matches the brief, use Start building to approve it. Run the generated web app; Replit documents that Preview opens when a web app runs. Check that all three books, the Read checkboxes, the unread count and the filter are present. Keep this as a prototype in Preview. A screen that loads is the start of the check, not the finish; there is no need to publish it for this exercise.

4

Try the cases that a pretty screen can hide

Check in this order: 1. On first load, three books appear and the unread count is 2. 2. Mark Moon Garden as read: the unread count becomes 1. 3. Turn on Unread only: only Quiet River appears, and the count stays 1. 4. Turn the filter off: all three books appear again. 5. Refresh: the original read states return and the unread count is 2. Use the keyboard to reach and toggle the controls too. These are the authored acceptance checks, not a recorded Replit result.

5

Repair one failure and keep the checked brief

If the checkbox changes but the count stays at 2, report the exact steps and ask: “Update the unread count whenever a book’s Read state changes. Keep the three-book data, filtering and refresh behaviour unchanged.” Then repeat all five checks; a fix can break a neighbouring behaviour. If the app will not run, use Preview’s Console to find the error and remove secrets before sharing it. Keep the brief and your observed results together. The linked answer-checking guide helps review the explanation; it does not inspect your app. Account access and production readiness remain separate checks.
