Check whether you can use the service
Read the current region, account and age requirements on the official service. This guide does not promise a signup time or support for a specific email, phone number or payment method. If access is unavailable, return to the tool selector and choose an available candidate.
Check training settings and chat deletion separately
The ChatGPT Tool page contains the reviewed Data Controls instructions and official FAQ. For signed-in web use, the documented setting is Settings → Data Controls → Improve the model for everyone. Turning it off is not deleting chat history; review the current disclosure before using real notes.
Try one fictional example
Return to the ChatGPT Tool page and choose its weekly-report or document-summary Task. Prepare the fictional source in the guided workflow, then copy the full prompt and source into ChatGPT. Keep unfinished work, uncertain facts and missing owners explicitly marked.
Return with a checked draft
Compare the reply with your source before pasting it into the Task review step. Check numbers, dates and approvals. If a claim cannot be checked, leave it unresolved. Creating an account gets you through the door; the answer still needs checking.
